New to Church?
Welcome! Whether you’ve just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life – we hope the website helps you find out what you want to know about Duke Street Church.
When & where does the church meet?
Our Sunday meeting times are 10am and 6.30pm. It helps to get there 10 minutes early to get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start. We meet at the church building in the middle of Richmond, just a 2 minute walk from Richmond main station.
See our contact info page for map and directions.
What to expect when I visit the church?
We believe the Bible is God’s word, a book that is alive and through which God speaks to us today. The Bible drives everything in our Sunday meetings. It is read aloud, and it informs our prayers and our songs. At the heart of our meetings is the exposition of a passage from the Bible which lasts for a good half hour. Please feel free to ask questions of the speaker when the meeting is finished. We love to sing together and use a mixture of musical styles and songs, new and old.
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper twice a month, on the first Sunday at 6.30pm and third Sunday at 10am.
Refreshments are served downstairs in the cafe area after the morning service, and all are welcome!
If you would like prayer for anything that’s on your mind or going on in your life, there is someone available to pray for or with you after each service.
What happens to the kids at church?
We have a fantastic programme for kids. Children stay with their parents for the first part of the service and the speaker will make it clear when children need to be taken to their classes and registered. Children can expect to have fun … playing games and learning about God in a relevant way!
Is there a dress code?
There is no special dress code at Duke Street. Most people dress casually!
Will I be made to feel uncomfortable?
Not at all! You will be welcomed and not be forced to do anything you are not comfortable with. We want you to feel right at home and enjoy the service. Do join us for coffee after the service to get to know some people from the church.
I have more questions, how can I get in touch and ask them?
Please feel free to call (020 8940 1551) or email the church office with any questions you have and we will be happy to help you.
