The Rock Solid Sunday School is open to all children from age 2 up to school year 6. The Sunday School is run by a small team of experienced coordinators and a large team of volunteer helpers. The children are divided into seven classes.
Crèche – 0-2 yrs.
Scramblers – Age 2
Climbers – Age 3-4 yrs (Preschoolers)
Gems – Reception & Year 1
Pebbles – Year 2 & 3
Stepping Stones – Year 4
Boulder Gang – Years 5 & 6
For pre-school children (Scramblers and Climbers) we introduce children to the Gospel of Jesus, the stories and characters in the Bible and the great truths about God. For school-aged children (Gems, Pebbles, Stepping Stones and Boulder Gang) we use Mustard Seed resources to teach Bible stories, applying them to children’s lives, through discussion, games and crafts.
All children who attend Rock Solid need to be registered by their parents or guardians. If you are visiting Duke Street and would like your child to attend Rock Solid, please let one of the Welcoming Stewards know as you arrive at the building, and we will help you connect with the Rock Solid team.
In addition to our Sunday work, we also run regular special events for children of primary school age. The highlights of these are our holiday Bible Clubs during the February half-term and the summer holidays.
We take our Safeguarding responsibilities very seriously, and all helpers and volunteers who have contact with children are DBS checked. Our Church Council approves our Safeguarding Policy, which you can see here, and all helpers have received Safeguarding training.
